The former AR Carnival took a new twist this year with a focus on STEM activities. We had beautiful weather for our 2 ½ hours of hands-on exploration!! Students visited 17 stations including Oobleck. geoboards, Archeology and creating a volcano explosion…. just to name a few!! What a blast!! A big “Thank you” to our 5th and 6th grade student helpers from Jefferson. We couldn't have done this without you. And, a Gigantic THANK YOU! to First National Bank of Rocky Ford for their generous donation of coins for our budding archeologists. Here are some snippets of the fun!

My sincere apologies!! It was brought to my attention that some of the Washington Primary School Student of the Week pictures and recognition did not work it's way all the way through all of our Social media platforms. I am so very sorry! I will be sending out the ones that were not posted throughout the day tomorrow.
WPS is continuing with the character trait of perseverance, we recognize first graders:
Guillermo Noriega Lucero and Laura Perez Garcia
RFJSHS 10th graders: You will return to in person learning tomorrow (5.12.21).
RFJSHS 8th grade parents: Unfortunately, the 8th grade tea is cancelled for this year. There has been recent evidence that COVID infections have spread quickly at prom dances. Additionally, with COVID cases on the rise in our county, moving to yellow status on the COVID dial and the social distancing issues of a dance, the decision to avoid a high risk setting for students and staff was paramount. The 8th grade promotion is still scheduled for 5.27.21 at 7pm, with a limit of 3 guests per student to comply with physical distancing and capacity limitation requirements.
RFJSHS Seniors: Senior checkout today from 1:30 - 4pm: return school items and pick up your cap and gown. Tomorrow (5.12.21) report to north end of Washington school at 10am, in your cap and gown, for the senior parade, followed by the senior slide show and academic awards at 11am in the auditorium. In order to meet social distancing guidelines, 5 guests will be allowed per graduate for the senior slide show and academic awards.
