Please note that meals will not be served during Spring Break (March 15-19). We will resume Grab & Go Meal distribution on Monday, March 22nd.
Can you believe Washington Primary students have been in school for 100 days! (It's actually just a few more than that!!)
WPS will be celebrating the end of Read Across American and Dr. Seuss' birthday (which was actually Tuesday -3/2) with the reading of "I'll Teach My Dog 100 Words" and other 100th day activities. Check those notes, parents!
This story, another great addition to the Dr. Seuss story clubs, was written by Michael Frith. Mr. Frith was a close personal friend of Dr. Seuss and his book editor! He is known for his many illustrations with the Sesame Street books and was the creative director of The Jim Henson Company - the Muppets!
The illustrator, P.D. (Philip Dey) Eastman, was also a good friend of Theodor Geisel (aka: Dr. Seuss). They served together in the Army. Mr. Eastman illustrated many of Dr. Seuss' books and Dr. Seuss penned many books under P.D. Eastman's name. Friendships are good things.

Tuesday ~ Put Me In the Zoo
WPS Students ~ Wear polka dots and/ or stripes!
“Put me in the Zoo” is a book by Robert Lopshire. Mr. Lopshire was an art consultant who worked closely with Dr. Seuss on many of his books. He went on to write 31 of his own stories and captured the style of Seuss' writings and illustrations in many of those books, thus being included in the Dr. Seuss reading clubs.
